ITIJ has sent Guy Williams and Jose Longoria (214th Judge race) Juan Garcia, Todd Hunter and Lenard Nelson (State Rep. Dis32 race) Abel Herrero and Connie Scott (State Rep. Dis 34 race) Dori Contreras Garza and Caroline Bertuzzi (13th Court of Appeals race) a questionnaire and invited them to speak in explanation of the views held on the following seven question (click read more below for the questionnaire)
The event will be 7pm on Tuesday October, 7th at the Wynn Seale Jr. High Academy Auditorium, 1707 Ayers, Corpus Christi. We believe that you want to be an educated voter. We chose these questions specially written to show the mind a heart of the candidates. Please join us in the second of many events ITIJ plans on having. Constitution was formed to reflect the Laws of Nature and of Natures God. That is why the image of the Ten Commandments is considered the symbol of laws. The constitutions of the states are modeled after the U.S. Constitution. 2. Do you believe that oughtness (what ought to be) in ethics has its origin in what God has said in the Bible? _X_ Yes ___ No Comment: I believe the precepts of morality come from the Bible. |

This is the response we recieved from Lenard Nelson. 1. Do you believe that the laws in the United States have as their origin Biblical ethical truths? _X_ Yes ___ No Comment: Our laws are based on British common law, which evolved from Biblical Laws and Edicts. 2. Do you believe that oughtness (what ought to be) in ethics has its origin in what God has said in the Bible? _X_ Yes ___ No Comment: 'Ought' in the sence of moral obligation certainly has origen in the Bible.
Success

Our Kick Off Conference was a great success. First we would like thank Pastor John Otis for the rousing statement of our foundation in the judicial system. We need a moral standard in our judicial system
or the nation will crumble under its own weight. This can be listened to by clicking here. Secondly thank you to Katherine Kase for the enlightening and at times humorous session on the Qualities of a good judicial candidate. We were impressed in her ability to take a topic usually considered dry and uninteresting and provide us with key and critical information and at the same time make it enjoyable.

Four Brave Souls Showed up to face their constituents. Thanks to those who made time for us. We had a light showing but hope everyone was watching the Presidential debates if they were not with us. Sam Milsap gave a great speech on questions to ask a candidate to make a more educated decision of the candidates. We have requested a print copy of the speech so we can post it here. Sam Millsap received his undergraduate and legal education at the University of Texas and has practiced law in San Antonio, Texas, for 35 years. Millsap was elected Bexar County District Attorney in 1982 and served in that office until 1987. He was selected as San Antonios "Politician of the Year" by both of San Antonios major daily newspapers in 1983.
